A digital laser diode measurement gauge and software package designed for tire inspection, analysis of tread depth and diagnostics of tread wear pattern while the tire is on vehicle.
tire profiles inc.
Distributed by Tire Profiles Inc. in the Americas and RL Automotive in Europe, TAC-Scan is the result of a ten year idea formulated and developed by Roger Tracy, President of Tire Profiles Inc. in partnership with Mark Longden, President of RL Automotive Inc.
The Partnership
The partnership of Tire Profiles Inc. and RL Automotive Inc. has become a leader in the development of laser diode technologies for tires featuring graphic tread depth measurement, trends analysis, and archival data capabilities.
Formula One
A laser scanner initially developed for analysis and diagnostics of formula one racing tires to detect tread condition before the eye could see them. The technology through continued development and testing over the past five years has evolved to become present day TAC-Scan.
The Results
The results, TAC-Scan is a unit that is an ergonomic portable tread depth gauge, able to scan across the tread pattern in one pass. The digital data produced becomes an accurate record of tread depth measurement, and wear condition.
Data Management
Through management of the digital data, TAC-Scan’s diagnostics software and analysis package generates a report. These reports become a visual record of the tread pattern; tread depth condition grading, wear analysis and diagnostics of vehicle tracking and front-end alignment.
Well Suited
TAC-Scan initially designed to be a retail sales aid with the advantages of visual report, record, and data keeping on tire condition is well suited for commercial and fleet management of tires as well.
Currently there are two versions of TAC-Scan, the H-1 Hand Held, and the F-1 Floor Model.
TAC-Scan is patented worldwide.
